Our Story.
The Ottawa Bandits Hockey Club
Hockey is often called Canada’s game. Youth across the country play on community-based teams and dream of the possibility of playing in the NHL someday. For one group of youth however, their opportunities are limited. Children and young adults who live with intellectual developmental disabilities or physical challenges, are never given that moment to dream… until now.
With the support and energy of the Ottawa Police Association behind them, the Ottawa Bandits Hockey Club has been established in the Nation’s Capital. Males and females, age 7 and up, with physical or intellectual developmental disabilities are given the opportunity to play hockey. Thanks to our volunteers, our community, and our sponsors, Ottawa’s youth with special needs can live and dream in their very own hockey world.
